about

Platinum selling Danish producer and electro swing pioneer, Per Ebdrup is back in his SWING REPUBLIC guise. In a return to the sound
and style of his genre defining debut album, his new 4 track EP delivers a mouth-watering taster ahead of the bands 3rd album due later in 2014.

Topping the bill with Swing Republic for this extravaganza are re-workings of Billie Holiday, Blind Willie McTell, The Mills Brothers and The Boswell Sisters. This marks a return to the sample based cover-versions of his debut as opposed to the 'original' vintage-style compositions of the bands 2013 MIDNIGHT CALLING album.

Back in 2009, Freshly Squeezed Music - "World leaders in putting a modern dance music spin on vintage records" (Mixmag) – discovered a (nearly) forgotten catalogue of swing remix created as a side project by the soon-to-be Swing Republic. Since that discovery Swing Republic have been hard at work breathing life back into the golden era of jazz & blues with 21st century dance-floor production.

Freshly Squeezed Music forged the way for the electro swing zeitgeist with their silver disc’d compilation series and club land phenomena, White Mink.

From the summery dub sounds with ‘Searching The Desert For The Blues’ (featuring Blind Willie McTell) to the floor-pleasing ‘Put That Sun Back In The Sky’ (lead by The Boswell Sisters), this EP is a melting pot of sounds styles and genres that seamlessly combine to create a cavorting slice of vintage remix...
